The landscape of Spiti is dotted with some of the world’s highest monasteries and villages. Grey scree slopes, a touch of barrenness and a sense of ancient civilization are some add-ons. It won’t be crazy to call this landscape Martian.

Visiting fascinating monasteries that are a window to the Spitian religion, travelling to the World’s Highest Motorable Village of Komik at 15,027 feet, seeing a 500 year old mummified body of a Buddhist Monk named Sangha Tenzin resting in the small village of Gue, sending Postcards from the Highest Post Office of the World at 14,567 feet in the village of Hikkim, living at welcoming homestays in quaint villages, trekking to untouched high altitude lakes are a handful of unique and fascinating reasons to visit this valley.
We have carefully honed an itinerary that lets you and your family leisurely explore Spiti through its travel, adventure, music, food and practically anything that can slow time down for you. We have also organized one of India’s highest marathons in the village of Kaza at 12,000 ft above sea level. This is an optional activity that your group can indulge in. What makes this marathon a one of a kind run are the never heard before high altitudes it’s organized at and the spectacular views of the valleys and mountains of Spiti falling on both the sides of the run route. Once you’re done experiencing the true adventure of Spiti, it will be time to experience the true culture of Spiti. Following the marathon awaits The Spiti Carnival, a celebration where the local tribes come and exhibit their rich culture through their art forms, cuisine, music, and performances.
19th June: Delhi/ Chandigarh - Rampur/ Narkanda
We assemble in Delhi/ Chandigarh at the time designated by our team and leave for Rampur in a Tempo Traveller. You can also upgrade your travel to an Innova by reaching out to us in advance. On the way to Rampur, we cross the scenic city of Shimla. Rampur was once a major centre on the old trade route to Kinnaur, Tibet, Ladakh & China. Today, it is one of the biggest commercial towns of Himachal Pradesh. We reach Rampur & have an overnight stay there.
20th June: Rampur - Kaza
This is going to be a long journey. We wake up at 5 am and start our journey for Kaza at 6 am. On our drive to Kaza, we cover the most beautiful and quaint villages of Himachal Pradesh namely Sarahan, Kalpa, Nako, Tabo and Dhankar. Known as the headquarter of Spiti valley, Kaza is the most urbanized part of Spiti with modern facilities. Night stay will be arranged in Kaza.
21st June & 22nd June: Kaza
These two days are set aside for leisurely exploring the region in our vehicle. You can explore the nearest villages that will truly give you an insight into the life of Spitians. Some of the key places that you can explore on these two days are Tabo Monastery, Key Monastery, Tangyud Monastery, Dhankar Monastery, Langza, Komik, Tabo, Hikkim and Pin valley.
23rd June: Run at Kaza/ Spiti Carnival
On this day, you have the option of participating in a unique heritage run. It is unique because it is India’s highest half marathon, organized at 12,000 ft above sea level. The scenic Spiti valley and mountains will accompany you on both sides while you run. Post the run, there will be The Spiti Carnival, where you will meet the local tribes who will come and showcase their culture, food, art, and music. A day full of celebrations will be planned for you. It will be a carnival you will remember forever. A perfect last evening in the Spitian valley.
24th June: Kaza - Rampur/ Narkanda
With a heavy heart, we leave Kaza and drive to Rampur. Overnight stay at Rampur/ Narkanda
25th June: Rampur/ Narkanda - Chandigarh/ Delhi
We leave Rampur/ Narkanda in the morning and reach Delhi/ Chandigarh quite late in the evening. So, book your flights accordingly for your travel back home.
